Save the dates: Two must-see September design events

Blog by Robert Matthews | August 28th, 2016

Two events of note for design aficionados. The IDS West design show at Canada Place, and the Vancouver Heritage Foundation's Mid-Century Modern Home Tour.

IDS West celebrates all things design. Now in its 12th year, IDS West - the Interior Design Show - is Western North America's annual premiere residential design fair featuring 275 exhibitors. Whether you're in the market for suppliers, designers, beautifully crafted design items, or simply wishing for ideas and inspiration, this is the place to be. Ticket prices vary; advance ticket discounts available until September 21st.

IDS West
Thursday, Sept 22: Opening Night Party (open to the public) - 7 p.m. - 11 p.m.
Friday, Sept 23: Trade Only - 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Sat, Sept 24: 10 a.m - 6 p.m.
Sun, Sept 25: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

The Mid-Century Modern Home Tour on Saturday, September 24th highlights this iconic architectural style with a visit to five Vancouver mid-century gems. What makes this type of architecture particularly interesting is its close relationship with nature - true indoor-outdoor living. Self-guided, or choose the bus option and leave the driving to someone else. You can chat and debrief with other architectural buffs at the informal reception afterwards.
